SAMOA O NEVADA is now accepting scholarship applications from eligible and qualified undergraduate applicants to attend an institution in the system of hgher education accredited college or university.  Scholarships will be offered for the Fall and Spring Semester of 2011-2012.  Continuing students for the Spring Semester of 2012 may submit a transcript and an enrollment verification before the begining of the Fall Semester of 2012.  A student must be registered for the Spring Semester of 2012 to qualify for our Spring Semester Scholarships. 

Eligibility:              
                               1.  All may apply for scholarships offered
                               2.  Legally authorized to reside in the US
                               3.  Must be able to meet all SON requirements.
                               4.  Must be a resident of the State of Nevada

Qualifications:
                               1.  Must be enrolled or accepted for admission at an institutional System of Higher Education 
                               2.  Have a High School Diploma or GED 
                               3.  Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of at least 2.5 for community college attendance cumulative unweighted GPA of at least 2.75 for university attendance.


Submission Requirements:
The scholarship application forms and submission requirements may be obtained from the website: microam1@cox.net or click Scholarship Application and also by sending a request to the above address and telephone number.  All applications and required forms should be received by the deadline as indicated.

Essay Required:
New student applicants will be required to write and submit a 500 words essay in your own words on the following topic, "What are some of the most popular careers or professions widely advertised in todays world and why are they most popular than others."

Selection:
Applicants who are enrolled in high school or college at the time of this scholarship application and who are selected as candidates for awards must submit official sealed transcript addressed to the Samoa O Nevada Scholarship Committee along with all required paperwork for which this award would apply.  Applcations from candidates who do not fulfill this requirement will be considered incomplete and will be withdrawn from consideration.

Final Awards :
The number and amount of awards are subject to availability of funds.  The final selections and award amounts will be announced in the selection award letter within two weeks after the selection.
