SAMOA O NEVADA is now accepting scholarship applications from eligible applicants planning to attend an institution in the system of higher education (SHE) accredited college or university.  Scholarships will be offered for the Fall and Spring Semester of 2009 - 2010.  Continuing students for the Spring Semester of 2010 may submit a transcript by the deadline of the Fall Semester of 2009 and must be enrolled for the Spring Semester of 2010 to qualify for our Spring Semester Scholarship. 

Eligibility:              
                               1.  All may apply for scholarships offered
                               2.  Nevada resident and all legally authorized to reside in the US
                               3.  Must meet SON requirements.

Qualifications:
                               1.  Be enrolled or accepted for admission at an institutional System of Higher Education 
                               2.  Have a High School Diploma or GED 
                               3.  Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of at least 2.5 for community college attendance cumulative unweighted GPA of at least 2.75 for university attendance.


Submission Requirements:
The scholarship application forms and submission requirements may be obtained from the website: microam1@cox.net by sending a request to the above address and telephone number.  All applications and required forms must be received by the deadline as indicated.

Essay Required:
New student applicants will be required to write and submit a 500 word essay in your own words on the following topic:  "What career path have I chosen and what motivation impacted and lead me to this decision."

Selection:  Completed application, documents, and official transcript must be received by the Scholarship Committee Chairman before selection of scholarship recipient is made.  All scholarship applicants who are enrolled in high school or colleges must submit an official sealed transcript to the Samoa O Nevada by the designated deadline as posted on our website.  Applications from candidates who do not fulfill this requirement will be considered incomplete and will be withdrawn from consideration.

Final Awards :
The number and amount of awards are subject to availability of funds.  The final selections and scholarship awards will be announced within two weeks of selection.
